October in Maine is one of my favorite times of the year. As I look out my window scarlet leaves have converted an already appreciated maple into a work of art. Pumpkins - all things pumpkin abound to my great joy. During my morning walks I wear soft fingerless gloves, a light wool cap, and cozy jacket. Candles are lit in the evening. Films like "Renfield" and "New Moon" (this is a judgment free zone dear readers) are on rotation.
As I write this post full of zest for my cozy retreat I'm all too aware of the real horrors mankind is playing out in distant landscapes where true heroes and all too real villains challenge each other for what? So, I up my monthly donation to Doctors Without Borders an organization that provides independent impartial medical humanitarian assistance to the people who need it most. And I feel useless and angry and so sad.
But dear readers I'm going to keep this post light...because frankly there's enough weighing me - and I'd imagine you - down these days. Sending out light...AND sharing a super fun totally supernatural online story I did. Well, I wrote it...my creative partner in crime Gustavo Cardenas worked his magic to make it shine - or GLOW!!
It was inspired by writer Grady Hendrix's genius. He's one of my favorite authors. An extraordinarily talented one of a kind human. If you haven't already, check out his book How to Sell a Haunted House. In fact, check out all his stuff. It's brilliant and fun and hilarious and so out there and I LOVE it. ox
